Skye Gellmann

Skye Gellmann works with themes of queerness and its entanglement with power structures. They are an Artist based in Marrickville, Australia on Gadiagal-Wangal land. Skye studied Contemporary Circus from a young age in Adelaide and graduated from NICA, Melbourne in 2006. They took their acrobatic skills into contemporary performance creating original work, before moving to Sydney in 2013. They have created nine full length performance works that have toured Australia, Europe and Asia to stages and sitespecific contexts such as Noorderzon Performing Arts, Stockholm Fringe, Artshouse, Brisbane Powerhouse, La Boite, Junction Arts Festival, Metro Arts, Sidesault Festival, The Judith Wright Centre, PACT, Next Wave Festival, MCA, and Meat Market, to name a few.

Skye has also exhibited film photography at galleries and in publications including UnMagazine, Rewind 2, Sidesault Festival, and Runway Experimental Arts Magazine, and also directed and mentored performance. In 2021 Skye presented their first solo
exhibition, Subjective Spectacle, at Goodspace Gallery, Sydney.

Skye performed Branch Nebula’s work, High Performance Packing Tape at AdelaideFestival (2021), and Cambridge Junction (2022).
