We’re excited to welcome local artist James Dodd to Vitalstatistix for a special residency in our shopfront space from 15 July – 13 August. Over this week, James will dive into a rich process of research, reflection, and creation inspired by the idea of sheds as sites of wonder, imagination, and magic.
James’ practice has long explored the vibrant world of suburban subcultures, DIY engineering, and backyard creativity. This project will develop new work through initial experimentation, collaboration with fellow practitioners, and a response to the unique character of the Port Adelaide region.
Throughout the residency, visitors can witness the unfolding of fresh ideas and creative discoveries in real time, offering a rare insight into the artist’s process and the spirited culture of making.
At the same time as James’ residency, Streetlights and Long Nights will be taking place! So if you’re coming to that, you can simply stop by the shopfront to see what James is up to.
