ADHOCRACY EARLY CAREER CURATOR – PAID INTERNSHIP
Each year we invite an early career/ emerging South Australian artist, curator or programmer to join the Adhocracy curators in selecting and developing our program.
The selected person will join Vitalstatistix Director Emma Webb and independent artist Paul Gazzola in their annual process of selecting the projects and developing the program for Adhocracy 2020. Applications close midnight Monday 25 May.
Who are we looking for?
We are interested in hearing from South Australian-based emerging/early career artists, curators and programmers. You can define early career for yourself; you may be in the first five to ten years of your career or you may be an artist who is newly branching into curatorial and programming fields.
Ideally you will have attended Adhocracy in the past however this is not essential for applying.
You will have a knowledge of and desire to work with Vitalstatistix; and will be able to identify what you would like to bring to and receive from this experience.
Women, trans, non-binary, queer and First Nations people are encouraged to apply.
The selected curator will be notified by 1st June and needs to be available to read applications over the following 2-3 weeks and attend an all-day selection meeting via Zoom, on a date to be determined in mid-late June. The selected curator will receive a sitting fee of $2000.
How to apply
To submit your expression of interest, please provide us with the following:
1. A letter, of no more than two pages, that outlines who you are and why you’d like to undertake this curator internship, including what you’d like to experience/learn and what you can contribute.
2. A biography or abbreviated CV, of no more than one page in length.
3. One letter of support or recommendation from an artistic peer.
Note: Please stick to the information we have asked for above – we do not require anything more than this. Non-pdf support material should be provided as URLs on the cover form. Please ensure you clearly name your documents with your name and project title.
