National hothouse for new art
Presented by Vitalstatistix
Vitalstatistix is now seeking proposals from artists for this year’s Adhocracy.
The EOI deadline has now been extended. Applications close midnight Tuesday 7 June.
Adhocracy is Vitalstatistix’s annual national hothouse, supporting the creative development and critical discussion of experimental, multidisciplinary arts projects.
After two years of being significantly impacted by the pandemic, we return to our national and in-person lab and festival-style event, at our heritage-listed venue Waterside (and surrounds) in Port Adelaide, Kaurna Yerta.
Artists from around Australia, selected through a national call, spend four days and nights in a studio environment developing new work which can span theatre, live art, dance, sound, installation, social practice, visual art and more.
Participating artists experiment with ideas and artforms, as well as how audiences experience their works. A public program, including showings, talks, audience experiments and other offerings, is presented over three evenings.
In 2022, three opportunities are offered for artists:
Our call for Adhocracy proposals, local and Australian-wide welcome, read more and apply here
A two-week residency at Hart’s Mill which will be offered to a South Australian-led creative team, read more and apply here
Our Early Career Curator paid internship, read more and apply here
All opportunities close midnight Tuesday 7 June
Adhocracy 2022 will be held from 1-4 September in Port Adelaide, Kaurna Yerta.
