Streetlights and Long Nights is a site-based, audio performance, evoking transient intimacy specific to time and place. From childhood sleepovers, long drives, late night confessionals, staying up too late and talking in an unexpected place; we all have known that deep, fleeting experience of spending time with someone when it’s dark and there are two of you alone, the whole world around you asleep.
This is a meditative, feelings-based experience, that plays with ASMR meets storytelling and evocative poetics, to summon nostalgic, deep bodily memory. During Adhocracy, artist and performer Isobel Marmion with dramaturg Sarah Peters and sound designer Sascha Budimski, will explore the world of the work – developing its use of storytelling and abstraction, undertaking sound experiments, and trialling possibilities in its site-specificity drawing on locations around Port Adelaide.
