As we watch the lights go out, we feel the clouds of confusion, disorientation and strange doorways.

So tragic it’s funny, The Milky Way by Elena Vereker is a mixed media experiment that invites the audience into a labyrinth of the mind surrounded by vignettes, films, song and live performance. The work looks at the intimate experience of Dementia, offering glimpses into the maze of the lost mind, the decline of body and self and the torture of the long goodbye.

Dementia is estimated to increase from 57.4 million cases in 2019 to 152.8 million cases by 2050. There is no known cure or prevention to date.
