Danse Picturesque celebrates dance, gathering, community, ghosts, experimentation and Elders by placing them literally at the front and centre of Vitals’ home, Waterside Workers Hall — from inside the iconic art deco window.
Working with the archive of footage taken by himself and long-term collaborator Jennifer Greer Holmes between 2010 – 2024, this projection work was commissioned for the 15th Anniversary of Adhocracy last year.
About the Artist
Heath Britton is a long-term collaborator of Vitalstatistix, working across photography, videography, video editing, and light-based art. His visual practice spans documentation and experimental moving image, often centring performance, place and community. Over the last 16 years, Heath has played a key role in capturing the evolving story of Vitals — and the artists, artworks and audiences that pass through its doors.
