how to play bridge is a new multimedia solo show of supersaturated, surrealist allegorical performance that explores the Wiradyuri lived experience of living in between two worlds; the physical and the spiritual. The work will splice archival and popular culture scenes and images, from an array of media including films, sacred geometry, pop songs, tv, religion, literature, infomercials, visual art, and philosophy, to evidence the ever-presence of Wiradyuri epistemologies across all aspects of historical and contemporary society and culture.
Employing rapid-fire appropriation, this project turns the gaze on the Colonial Project as a means of dismantling western structural mythology around the individual vs the collective in the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment. Collaborating with creative producer Sam Watson-Wood, during Adhocracy this project will focus on script development, scenography, and performative elements of the work.
